Lagos agency promises to defend consumers’ rights | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News


• Tasks Residents On Lodging ComplaintsLagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has promised to defend consumers’ right brought to it, as the agency is committed to ensuring justice any transaction. The General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode, stated this when her agency had its divisional public enlightenment campaign in Epe Local Government and Eredo Council Development Areas. The campaign, which took off from Lagos road to Ayetoro market in Epe went through major streets to the headquarters of the Local Government with officials of LASCOPA sensitizing consumers on their rights. The officials of the agency took the public enlightenment campaign to Eredo Local Council Development Area where they addressed a stakeholders meeting consisting of the Council Chairman, Hon. Speaking on the on-going sensitization campaign themed ‘’Know Your Rights” to educate consumers on their rights, Olugbode said the Agency was established by the Consumer Protection 2014 but, commenced operation in March, 2018 with a mandate to ensure that the rights of consumers in the State are protected and promoted.
